Composite bonding is a treatment option where composite resin is used to remedy minor aesthetic complaints. In the majority of cases composite bonding is used for filling chips, fractures or small gaps in between your teeth.
Whilst treatments like aligners will move your teeth in to the correct position, composite bonding will give you a cost-effective way to alter the shape of your teeth without having traditional veneers.
With the improvements in composite materials it now means your teeth can be treated with very little, if any, damage done to your natural teeth. The colour of the composite material can be matched to your teeth to give you a natural look.
Step 1
Visit your dentist to discuss what changes you would like to make to your smile.
Step 2
You will get shown what your smile can look like before you choose to have the treatment done.
Step 3
In a matter of hours the composite will be applied to your teeth and you will leave the practice with your stunning new smile.
A) Composite materials are cheaper than porcelain so this reflects in your treatment price. Also some treatments only require minor corrections which wouldn’t justify the reduction of tooth preparation that porcelain veneers sometimes require.
A) It can last between five and seven years but like all treatment it is dependent on the aftercare and how often you visit your dentist and hygienist.
A) Certain foods and drinks can stain composite. It’s important to avoid these foods and drinks in the first couple of weeks after the treatment. After that you can resume your diet but just be careful on how much these staining foods you consume. Visiting your hygienist on a regular basis helps keep your smile looking fresh too.
