Dental Implants

Dental implants are an artificial root that are surgically placed in your jaw. The implant has a crown attached to give you a natural looking tooth.

Step 1
Your dentist will undertake a thorough assessment to ensure you are suitable for a dental implant and provide you with a treatment plan.
Step 2
Your dental implant will be placed and allowed time to integrate in your jaw.
Step 3
Approximately six months after the implant is placed, your crown is fitted to complete the treatment and give your natural looking smile back.
A) The treatment does involve surgery but you are given appropriate sedatives or sedation to minimise any discomfort.
A) Yes. As with all treatments there is an element risk for example the implant doesn’t integrate with the bone. With on-going enhancements in dental implants though the risks are minimal.
A) Research shows that over 90% of dental implants last over ten years. Following the after care instructions provided by your dentist and maintaining regular visits with your dentist and hygienist give you the best chance of a long-lasting dental implant.
